The BNP and Ganatantra Mancha held a meeting on Monday to finalise the action programmes during the final phase of their one-point simultaneous movement against the government.
The hour-long meeting that began at 7:10pm was held at the BNP chairperson's Gulshan office.

On behalf of BNP, party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice Chairman Barkatullah Bulu and Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal were present in the meeting.
On the other side, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Bangladesh Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque, Ganasamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonaid Saki, Bhasani Onusari Parishad Convener Sheikh Shohidul Islam Bablu and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Rab) General Secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan attended the meeting on behalf of Ganatantra Mancha - formed in 2022 as a platform for parties defining themselves as part of a struggle to re-establish democracy in Bangladesh.

BNP had similar meetings earlier with the 12-party alliance, Jatiyatabadi Samamona Jote, LDP, Gonoforum and People's Party, Gonotantrik Bam Oikya, Labour Party and NDM.
Earlier on October 18, BNP announced to hold the grand rally in the capital on October 28 as part of its final phase of the action programme of the ongoing movement to topple the current regime for holding the next election under a non-party neutral government.

“We’ll hold a grand rally in Dhaka on October 28 (Saturday). From this grand rally, our grand journey (of our movement will begin,” BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said while announcing the programme at a rally at Nayapaltan.
Stating that their planned grand rally is a partial programme of the final phase of the movement, Fakhrul hinted that the opposition will announce a series of action programmes on October 28. “After the grand rally, Inshallah we won’t stop until the fall of this regime,” he told invigorating opposition followers.
The BNP leader said the grand rally will be arranged as part of the simultaneous movement. “We all political parties who are on the simultaneous movement will make this programme a success."
