BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain returned to Dhaka on Saturday night, completing his follow-up medical treatment in Singapore.
He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 9:00pm on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
“Alhamdulillah, she is now well,” Sayrul said, adding that Dr Mosharraf had travelled to Singapore on December 14 for routine follow-up treatment.
The senior BNP leader, aged 80, had earlier received treatment in Singapore for a brain tumour diagnosed in 2023.
He was accompanied by his wife during the trip.
According to his younger son, Khandaker Maruf Hossain, Dr Mosharraf underwent medical consultations and tests at the National University Hospital in Singapore to assess the current condition of the tumour.
He said a sphenoid wing meningioma, a type of tumour located outside the brain, was detected in 2023.
Doctors at the Singapore National Hospital later provided upfront radiotherapy to control the tumour and manage its effects.
Maruf also said his father had previously travelled to Singapore for a routine health check-up on February 12 this year.
