Followed by major public universities including Dhaka, Chittagong and Rajshahi, Jamaat e-Islami’s student wing Chhatra Shibir made public its Jahangirnagar University (JU) committee through issuing a joint statement on Tuesday night.

The statement, signed by its publicity secretary Abduallah Al Mamun Saki, introduced Harunur Rashid (Rafi) and Mohibur Rahman (Muhib) as president and general secretary respectively of the university unit.
Of them, Harunur is the 46th batch student of Archaeology department while Mohibur Rahman holds next batch in Bengla department. Both are the resident students of Shaheed Salam-Barkat Hall.

Moreover, the Shibir pledged to create an educational-friendly environment, research-oriented educational systems, healthy cultural atmosphere and safe environment for women.
