Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, condemned the death of a Bangladesh Chhatra League(BCL) leader at Jahangirnagar University and a ‘mentally-challenged’ man on Dhaka University campus in lynch-mob attacks.
JCD also expressed their concern over the incidents of ‘mob justice’ across the country at press conference held the office room the Dhaka University Journalists Association (DUJA) on Thursday.
General secretary of central JCD Nasir Uddin Nasir conducted the programme with its president Rakibul Islam in chair.
Addressing the press conference, JCD president Rakibul Islam said, "We, JCD, are strongly protesting the heinous crime committed by some culprits in two universities of the country. We are condemning the both the killing. Mob justice can never be allowed in a civilized society.”
Terming the killings as the failure of the administrations, Rakib said, Now there is no students politics on the campuses. Then why such incidents are taking place? Now no one can blame student politics for these incidents, and it is also clear that banning student politics on the campuses can never be a good solution to stop violence on campuses.”
