BNP’s Joint Secretary for Information and Research Kader Gani Chowdhury on Thursday urged people to vote for the party’s symbol, ‘Dhanershish’ (Sheaf of Paddy), calling it a symbol of development, democracy and national sovereignty.
Speaking at a rally at Talimuddin Madrasah grounds, he highlighted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s vision for a humane Bangladesh.
“By voting for the ‘Dhanershish’, people have never been deceived. BNP respects the sanctity of votes. When BNP comes to power, development happens and people live in peace,” he said.
The rally featured the distribution of BNP’s 31-point plan to reform the state, addressing governance challenges, strengthening democracy, ensuring judicial independence, and promoting transparent elections.
Supporters from Fatikchhari and Bhujpur marched in processions, ending at Maizbhandar Dargah, where leaders offered fateha.
Kader Gani recalled BNP founder Ziaur Rahman’s role in establishing parliamentary democracy and praised Begum Khaleda Zia for strengthening democratic institutions.
He emphasised that BNP aims to build an inclusive, equitable and humane Bangladesh where citizens are united beyond religion, caste, or profession.
BNP leaders Chairman Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Sarwar Hossain, M. Morshed Hazari, Osman Taher Samrat, Ahmad Gani Chowdhury and Mohammad Yusuf, among others, attended the rally.
