MustafizurRahman (3/50), Nazmul Islam (3/28) and Shakib (2/19) shared eight wickets, helping Bangladesh restrict the West Indies at 159 for 9 in 20 overs to level the series.
Windies opener Andre Fletcher [43 off 38b; 3x4; 2x6] and number-6 batsman Rovman Powell [43 off 34b; 3x4; 2x6] carried the half-way of their chase, but Bangladesh bowlers denied their remaining double digit scorers -- Andre Russell [17], Ashley Nurse [16], skipper Carlos Brathwaite [11] and Marlon Samuels [10] -- to reach to 20 runs marks.
Man of the match Tamim completed his 6th fifty in this format with a 44-ball 74, including six boundaries and four over boundaries, before being caught by pacer Keemo Paul off Andre Russell to removed from 4th wicket on 138/4 in the 16th over, starting after Soumya Sarkar’s dismissal on 48 in 7.4 over.
Talismanic all-rounder Shakib continued for a 38-ball 60, including nine boundaries and one six, and was out leaving his side on 167/5 in 19.3 overs. Shakib was caught by substitute fielder Chadwick Walton off Keemo Paul, accomplishing his 7th fifty in T20Is.
Soumya Sarkar played 18-ball 14 with one boundary and one six while Mahmudullah Riyad added an unbeaten 10-ball 13* with a boundary.
Windies spinner Ashley Nurse (2/25), who removed Tamim and Soumya Sarkar for duck within four balls of the first over in the first match, got Bangladesh’s first two wickets opener Liton Kumar Das and number-3 Mushfiqur Rahim on single digits on the day. Liton and Mushfiq were dismissed on 7/1 in 1.5 and 24/2 in 3.3 overs respectively.
Keemo Paul (2/39) and Andre Russell (1/33) shared other three wickets for host side.
Both sides play the series decider third game at the same venue on Monday.
Bangladesh lost the rain-interrupted first game by seven wickets against Windies at Basseterre in St Kitts on July 31.
