Arambagh KS was reluctant to take part in players’ registration formalities following a casino crackdown in the club.

Nearly two months ago, the club premises of Arambagh KS, Muktijoddha SKC and Dhaka Mohammedan SC were raided by the law enforcement agencies during the casino crackdown in Dhaka.

Eventually, the three clubs managed to overcome the difficulties and completed the players’ transfer formalities.

Vice-President of Arambagh KS Azaz Mohammed Jahangir told UNB, “The club members and the residents of Arambagh, decided to take part in BPL in the dying moment on Wednesday night and appointed Millon Mollah as our new head coach.”

Asking about their preparation, Jahangir said, “We want to start our residential camp from next week, and we need rooms for our players.”

Claiming that police have locked the club following casino scandal, Jahangir said “We don’t know what we’ll do.”

Arambagh KS recruited 34 players including four foreign booters for the next BPL.

Foreign booters are: forward Eleta Kingsley, defender Eleta Benjamin Junior (Nigeria), defender Yonta Micheal (Cameroon) and midfielder Mostafa Mahmud (Egypt).

Apart from Arambagh KS, league runners-up Dhaka Abahani Ltd, Chottogram Abahani Ltd, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC, Brothers Union, Rahmatjong MFS and Uttar Baridhara SC also completed their players’ registration formalities on the final day (Wednesday).

Champions Bashundhara Kings, Dhaka Mohammedan Ltd., Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Bangladesh Police Football Club, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Saif Sporting Club also completed their players transfer formalities on Tuesday.
