League leaders Mohammedan SC tasted their first defeat in their 9th match of the 10- team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), losing to lowly Youngmen's Club Fakirerpool by 0-1 goal at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla Friday afternoon.
Despite the day's maiden and shocking defeat, the traditional black and whites Mohammedan SC comfortably dominated the league in the first phase securing 24 points from nine matches
With the day's well-merited and 3rd victory, Youngmen's Club Fakirerpool advanced to the 7th slot in the league table collecting nine points from as many matches.
After a barren first half, Uzbek midfielder Sardor Jakmonov scored the match winning goal for Youngmen's Club in the 66th minute of the match (1-0).

Brazilian midfielder Jonathon Fernandes put the Kings ahead in the 11th minute (1-0), medio Mohammad Sohel Rana doubled the Kings margin in the 29th minute (2-0) while defender Topu Barman scored the 3rd goal for the winners in the 38th minute to dominate the first half by 3-0 goals.
Local forward Rakib Hossain and Brazilian forward Miguel Figueira added two more goals for the Kings in the 66th and 75th minutes respectively to earned a comfortable (5-0) victory.

Ghana midfielder Mamoud Oshie put Rahmatganj MFS ahead in the 25th minute while local forward Al Amin scored twice for Police FC in the 35th and 68th minutes respectively.

Fed Cup Football: Brothers Union Club beat Fortis FC by 1-0 goal
Brothers Union Club beat group leader Fortis FC by 1-0 goal in their 3rd Group A match of the Federation Cup Football’ 2024-25 at the Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Tuesday.
Midfielder Kawar Ali Rabbi scored the match-winning goal for the Goipbagh outfit Brothers Union in the 36th minute of the match.
In the days’ other match, coming from behind, Bangladesh Police FC defeated all-losers Dhaka Wanderers Club by 2-1 goals at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Tuesday.
Defender Mohammad Emon put the Wanderers Club ahead in the 42nd minute from a penalty (1-0) while forward Mannaf Rabbi leveled the margin for Police FC in the 84th minute (1-1)
Another forward Esanur Rahman scored the match-winning goal for Police FC just two minutes later (2-1).
Despite the day’s maiden defeat, Fortis FC dominated the Group A securing seven points from all the four group matches with two wins, one draw and one defeat, defending champions Bashundhara Kings and Brothers Union Club are in the 2nd and 3rd slot respectively securing six points each playing three matches.
With the day’s first win in their 3rd Group A match, Bangladesh Police FC bagged four points from three matches with one win, one draw and one defeat while old horse Dhaka Wanderers Club remained at the bottom with empty hand, also playing three matches.

Dhaka Abahani Limited, without any foreign booters, smartly booked seat for qualifiers shocking their traditional rivals Dhaka Mohammedan SC beating them by 1-0 goal in titans battle last Tuesday.
Dhaka Mohammedan SC collected three points from three matches to eliminate from the race with one win and two defeats.
Youngmen’s Club Fakirerpool earned one point from two matches while Chittagong Abahani Ltd also bagged one point playing three matches.

Dhaka Mohammedan SC Ltd maintained their all-win record in the 10-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football, beating their nearest rivals Rahmatganj MFS by 3-1 goals in a vital 7th round match at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla Friday afternoon.
With this victory, Mohammedans not only maintained their all-win run as the lone team in the ongoing league but also dominated the league comfortably securing full 21 points from straight seven matches.
After the 2nd defeat in seven matches, the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS further went down in the league race with 15 points while the Gopibagh team Brothers Union are in 3rd slot, bagging 14 points, playing seven matches each.
Last season’s treble winners Bashundhara Kings and six times champions Dhaka Abahani limited are struggling at the 4th and 5th place respectively with 13 points each, playing seven and six matches.

Dhaka Abahani Limited will play Fortis FC at 2:45 pm at the Bashundhara Kings Arena while Bashundhara Kings will encounter Bangladesh Police FC also at 2:45 pm at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
Brothers Union Club will face Youngmen’s Club Fakirerpool in Friday’s other match at 2:45 pm at the Shaheed Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
After the 5th round matches, Dhaka Mohammedan SC Ltd maintained the solo lead in the league table with all-win record securing full 15 points from straight five matches.
Rahmatganj MFS and six-time champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd, without any foreign players, remained at 2nd slot securing 12 points each from five matches. But, in goal differences, Rahmatganj MFS were in the 2nd slot while Dhaka Abahani in the 3rd place.

Defending champions Bashundhara Kings continued their unbeaten run in the eleven-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football Saturday after beating Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra 3-1 at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.
Star-studded Kings topped the league table with 21 points from seven straight matches; second-placed Dhaka Abahani earned 15 points from as many encounters.
Sheikh Russell remained in the fifth spot with 12 points from six matches.
After a goalless first half, Brazilian forward Robson Robinho put the Kings ahead in the 65th minute from a penalty (1-0); Uzbek midfielder Asror Gafurov doubled the lead in the 73rd minute (2-0).
