Bangladeshi Journalists in International Media (BJIM) commemorates its second anniversary with a poignant photo exhibition, "Bangladesh Reborn: Pathway to July 36," opening December 2nd at EMK Center in Gulshan.
The exhibition, running through December 12th (excluding December 6th and 11th), captures the tumultuous July-August revolution that toppled the 15-year administration of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Curated by renowned photographer and BJIM member KM Asad, the exhibition showcases frontline perspectives of the revolution, highlighting the struggle for press freedom amidst an unprecedented upheaval in Bangladesh's recent history.
Mahir Sarowar Megh, son of slain journalists Sagor Sarowar and Meherun Runi, will inaugurate the event.
An informal discussion with BJIM members who covered the student-led movement will follow the opening, offering firsthand accounts of the pivotal events.
The exhibition will also be accessible through EMK Center's virtual gallery.
