Hosts Pakistan A team, under the banner of Pakistan Shaheens, are trailing by 120 runs against Bangladesh A team on the first day of the four-day first Unofficial Test match that began on Tuesday (August 13) at the Islamabad Club Cricket Oval in Islamabad.
The 2nd string Bangladesh cricket team batted first after winning the toss and were bundled out cheaply for 122 runs in 44.3 overs in the first innings with opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy contributing the team highest 65 runs off 116 balls, featuring nine boundaries.
Besides, two former national captains Mushfiqur Rahim (14) and Mominul Haque (11),and lower order Rejaur Rahman Raja (10) were the other Bangladeshi batsmen reaching the double figures.
Four Bangladeshi batters –Zakir Hasan, Shahadat Hossain, Nayeem Hasan and Hasan Murad –back to the pavilion with duck.
Naseem Shah and Mir Hamza of Pakistan claimed three Bangladeshi wickets each conceding 24 and 33 runs respectively while Mohammad Rameez took two wickets for 41 runs.
In reply, Pakistan Shaheens opened the first innings in the late afternoon and scored two runs for no loss in two overs at the end of the first day with Saim Ayub and Muhammad Hurraira were batting with two and zero respectively.
Hosts Pakistan A team will resume batting on Wednesday morning.
