Bangladesh's leg-spinning sensation Rishad Hossain has joined the Hobart Hurricanes, a team in the Big Bash League (BBL), Australia's premier T20 competition.
The Hobart Hurricanes confirmed the signing on their official X handle.
Rishad becomes the second Bangladeshi cricketer to play in the BBL, following Shakib Al Hasan, who previously represented the Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades.
Rishad has garnered attention for his leg-spin and big-hitting abilities in recent months.
During the 2024 T20 World Cup, he took 14 wickets in seven matches for Bangladesh—no other bowler in the tournament took more wickets over the same number of games.
In his T20I career, Rishad has played 24 matches, claiming 29 wickets at an average of 19.55, with an economy rate of 7.36. His best bowling figures in a T20I are 3 for 22.
