Bangladesh were miserably eliminated from the group stage of the six-nation South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-19 Championships with a shocking 3-4 goals defeat against Bhutan at the Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu on Saturday.
With the day's debacle, Bangladesh completed SAFF engagements in empty hand losing both of their Group B matches.
Coming from 0-2 behind in the day's match, the Himalayan nation Bhutan forced Bangladesh to play 2-2 draw in the first half and finally confirmed their semifinal berth from Group B at the coffin of Bangladesh.

With the day's feat, Bhutan advanced to the last four stage of the meet with one more match to spare with stronger India on Monday (September 25).
In the day's crucial match, Rubel Sheikh put Bangladesh ahead in the very 3rd minute of the match (1-0) while Asadul Mollah doubled the Bangladesh margin in the 30th minute (2-0).
Jigme Namgyel pulled the Bhutan margin one back in the 32nd minute (2-1) while Kinzang Tenzin levelled the match in the 3rd minute of the added time in the first half (45+3 minute) to settle for 2-2 in the first half.
Raju Ahmed again put Bangladesh ahead in the 55th minute (3-2) while Jigme Namgyel neutralized the match scoring his 2nd goal in the 68th minute (3-3).

Finally, Rinzin Dorji scored the match-winner for Bhutan in the 84th minute silencing the Bangladesh tent (4-3).
Earlier, Bangladesh team made a frustrating start in the six-nation regional youth soccer meet after conceding 0-3 goals defeat against their arch- rival India in their first Group B match last Thursday.
Bangladesh was placed in Group B of the regional youth meet with their giant neighbor India and Bhutan while hosts Nepal, the Maldives and Pakistan put in Group A.

Bhutan will play semifinal on September 27 while the final match will be held on September 30.
