Two people including a child were killed in a boiler explosion at a rice mill at Kashipur in Faridpur upazila of Pabna district on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Jahangir Alam, 37, the owner of the rice mill and son of Abdur Razzak and Tarek Hossain, 5, son of Pakhi Khatun, a worker of the mill.
The explosion occurred at the rice mill around 10:30 am when rice was put on the boiler machine, leaving Jahangir dead on the spot and injuring Tarek, said Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Faridpur Police Station.

Later, Tarek was taken to the Faridpur Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead.
