Another group of Bangladeshi nationals, who got stuck in India amid its lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus, returned home through Benapole on Tuesday.
Ahsan Kabir, officer-in-charge of Benapole Immigration Police, said the 217 returnees are being taken to institutional quarantine.
Pulak Kumar Mondol, officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station, said the returnees will have to stay in a Madrasha at Gazir Dorgah of the upazila for 14 days.

“They will go home if none of them tests positive for coronavirus during the period,” he added.
A total of 3,336 Bangladeshis, stranded in India amid lockdown after coronavirus outbreak, have so far returned home through Benapole checkpost till May 10.
