Detectives arrested three people along with illegal firearms, bullets, locally made weapons and yaba tablets during a drive in Sadar upazila on Tuesday.
The raid was carried out in Chhoto Makhati area under Mollakandi union, where police recovered a foreign pistol, a locally made pipe gun and 350 yaba tablets.
At a press briefing, Superintendent of Police Md Menhajul Alam said the drive was conducted at a house in the area around noon.
During the operation, Md Russell Sikdar (43) was detained with 50 yaba tablets. Later, house owner Shuvo Gazi (37) was arrested with 300 yaba tablets.
Another suspect, Al Amin Majhi (32), was held from a room in the house, and a foreign pistol with one round of ammunition was recovered from his possession. Based on his information, police also recovered a locally made pipe gun from the same room.
Police also seized several sharp weapons, including knives, machetes, hammers and iron rods, from different parts of the house.
The SP said the arrestees had long been involved in drug trading and abuse. Al Amin Majhi is also a fugitive accused in a murder case and is suspected of involvement in other crimes.
Cases have been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act and the Arms Act with Munshiganj Sadar Police Station.
