A Narayanganj court on Sunday sentenced three people to life term imprisonment for killing a mason in 2021.
Narayanganj District and Special Judge Abu Shamim Azad, handed down the punishment.
The convicts are—Mizanur Rahman, son of Ibrahim Ali, Ashraful Islam, son of Ibrahim Molla and Anisur Rahman, son of Abdul Hamid of Ulipur upazila in Kurigram district.
The court also fined them Tk 1 lakh each, in default to suffer two more years in rigorous imprisonment.
The court also sentenced them five years of imprisonment and fined Tk 5,000, in another section of the case.
According to the prosecution, Sabbir Rahman, a mason by profession of Rupganj upazila, was strangled to death by his co-workers while he was returning home on November 20, 2021.
Later, a case was filed and police submitted chargesheet against them.
