A 60-year-old man died on Thursday when a commuter train hit him at Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat.
The incident happened at the North Parulia railway gate area of the upazila around 11:00 am on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Majid of Uttar Parulia village of Patikapara union of the upazila.
According to police and local sources, Abdul Majid was hit by the commuter train while taking a goat to the railway track. Locals rescued him and took him to Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex.
Jewel Rana, medical officer of Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex, said the man was brought dead to the hospital.

Mujibul Haque Sadat, chairman of the Patikapara union, said, "After hearing the incident, I came to the Upazila Health Complex and came to know that the man had died."
