Police in a drive arrested seven suspected leaders and activists of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from the residence of former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Noufel in Sholoshohor in Chattogram port city on Wednesday.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive at the residence of Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Noufel in Mayor alley in the afternoon and arrested seven suspected members of banned BCL, said Mohammad Solaiman, officer-in-charge of Panchlaish Police Station.
Besides, police patrols have been intensified in all key areas since last night in the city to ensure law and order situation.
Meanwhile, Islami Chhatra Shibir brought out a protest procession in the city’s Muradpur area on Wednesday afternoon.
