A court on Sunday granted bail to Akhter Hossain, a convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, who was arrested in connection with a clash during an Iftar Mahfil organised by the National Citizen Party (NCP) in Sylhet city.
Judge of the Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-2, Sagir Ahmed passed the order.
Akhter was produced before the court in the afternoon.
Akhter was arrested from the Ausha area under Sylhet's Jalalabad area, said Shahporan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Monir Hossain.
Anti-discrimination student movement convenor arrested in Sylhet
According to the OC, Mahbubur Rahman Shanto, a private university student, who was injured during the clash at a convention hall in Sylhet city, filed a case.
Akhter is the third accused in the case, said the OC.
Sylhet city unit NCP organised an iftar party at the Convention Hall in Sylhet city on Saturday.
A scuffle took place between two groups, leaving Shanto, a private university student injured.
