The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is set to replace its BANAMUHU-4 contingent with BANAMUHU-5 at the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan addressed the members of BANAMUHU-5 at Air Headquarters on Thursday. During his address, Air Marshal Khan urged the peacekeepers to perform their duties with honesty, professionalism, and sincerity to uphold the reputation of the Bangladesh Air Force and the nation, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
He also participated in a special prayer for the success of the contingent.
Reception accorded to BAF freedom fighters, successors
The event was attended by Principal Staff Officers, Air Officers Commanding of Dhaka area, and senior BAF officers from Air Headquarters and various bases.
The BAF has deployed three armed Mi-171 helicopters, equipped with night vision systems and necessary ground support equipment, to the mission area.
BANAMUHU-5 will be led by Air Commodore Mohammed Mahfuz Uddin. The contingent is scheduled to depart for the Central African Republic from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on June 17, 2024.
