The launch and sea-truck services on 10 internal routes including Bhola-Lakshmipur and Monpura-Dhaka route have remained suspended for three days due to inclement weather.
Md Jashim Uddin, Transport Inspector of BIWTA Bhola river Port, said the launch and sea-truck services on ten internal routes of Bhola have been suspended since Thursday due to inclement weather.
However, the launch services on Bhola-Ilisha route are operational.
Due to the influence of depression the district has been experiencing adverse weather condition since Thursday morning.
The Ilisha ferry terminal in Bhola was submerged by tidal surges, causing significant disruption.
As the gangway and access routes to the ferries went underwater passengers faced immense hardship and were forced to use boats to board and disembark from the ferries.
Meanwhile, maritime ports have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 3 while river ports have been asked to hoist signal number 1.
Many are now risking their lives by crossing the rough waters of the Meghna River in unauthorized trawlers and speedboats, disregarding the danger zones.
