Chattogram BGMEA Hospital and Diagnostic Center has conducted relief works to help flood affected people,
A team of the organisation with doctors and medical assistance distributed free medicine along with various services through setting up free medical camp for the sick residents after the flood at Juzhkhola Government Primary School in Bhujpur of Fatikchari Upazila in the eastern area of Chittagong.
Hundreds of women, men, children and people of various professions received services from the camp attended by doctors, nurses and senior officials of BGMEA Hospital.
First Vice President of BGMEA Syed Nazrul Islam and Vice President Rakibul Alam Chowdhury said that due to the continuous rains following low pressure of the sea and the mountain landslides coming from neighboring India in our country in August caused the extensive flooding.
They said this caused extensive damage to property in 8 districts in the eastern part of the country. The eastern part of Chittagong has also been damaged. The communication system is broken.
People had to leave their homes and take shelter in various schools, colleges and shelters to save their lives. After the water receded a little there was a widespread disease.
“Given the situation, as a social responsibility, we on behalf of BGMEA send BGMEA Hospital to the affected areas to serve the people”.
The BGMEA will try its best to stand by the poor people, they said adding, the organisation of the export oriented garments industry will always stand by the people of the country, they said.
