Leaders of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) on Tuesday met BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
During the meeting, the BGMEA delegation, led by its president Khandaker Rafiqul Islam said a vested quarter is trying to create a kind of unrest in the garment industry during the present government.
The meeting was held in the afternoon at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office.
The BGMEA leaders expressed gratitude to BNP as the BNP leaders from all levels have instantly come forward to help them in this crisis following the party’s decision and instruction of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. BNP men are playing the role of guards in someplace as well, said the team.
Then Mirza Fakhrul Islam talked to the Home Affair Adviser and asked the BGMEA leaders to come forward in unison in this critical time for bringing back the economic, political and democratic rights.
BNP standing committee members and former commerce minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, BNP vice chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, BGMEA senior vice president Abdullah Hil Rakib, vice present Rakibul Alam, and directors Shovon Islam, Nurul Islam and Absar Hossain, and BGMEA former presidents SM Fazlul Hoque, Quazi Moniruzzaman and Golam Mostafa Quddus among others, were present.
