The business leaders demanded swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and urged the government to take measures to prevent such incidents in the future. "We strongly urge the government to ensure the safety and security of all industries, particularly the ready-made garment (RMG) sector, which is the backbone of Bangladesh's export economy," the statement said.
The organizations alleged that vested interests were attempting to destabilize the economy, including the garment sector, and called for the identification and punishment of those involved.
Highlighting the years of dedication and hard work behind the success of Bangladesh's garment industry, the associations stressed the importance of protecting all stakeholders.
