Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called on BRICS nations to take a leading role in promoting global peace and development.
Emphasising their growing influence, he said BRICS should act as a stabilising force in an increasingly turbulent world.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party came up with the remarks while attending the first -stage meeting of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Rio de Janeiro on Monday.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Vieira chaired the meeting, and all parties discussed the role of BRICS countries in promoting peace and security.

First: “we should adhere to universal security practicing the Global Security Initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping, promote all countries in the world to jointly discuss security governance on the premise of mutual respect, jointly build lasting peace on the basis of fairness and justice, and embark on a new path of security featuring dialogue rather than confrontation, partnership rather than alliance, and win - win cooperation rather than zero - sum game.”
