Two crude bombs blasted near the meeting venue of National Citizen Party (NCP) in Bogura town on Monday afternoon, spreading panic in the area.
Shawkat Imran, a member of the NCP’s district coordination committee, said NCP chief organiser for northern region Sarjis Alam attended a district coordination committee meeting at the Zila Parishad auditorium.
Around 4 pm, a group of attackers hurled two crude bombs near the auditorium courtyard, causing panic and forcing attendees to flee, said Hasan Basir, Officer-in-Charge of sadar police station.
Sarjis Alam, speaking to jounalists, condemned the attack and called for identification and punishment of those responsible.

He accused local administration of failing to provide security for NCP leaders.
Later Sarjis Alam and party leaders left place under police escort.
Officers from Sadar Police Station visited the site.
