The function was attended by local people, leaders of various political parties, activists, and dignitaries from different walks of life.
Former Minister Tofail Ahmed, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, former state minister Capt. (Retd.) Tajul Islam, Aslamul Haque MP and former deputy minister Abdullah Al Islam Jacob, and Alhaj Md. Sadeq Khan MP were among others who attended the function.
Monwara Sikder, wife of late Zainul Haque Sikder, sons Rick Haque Sikder, Ron Haque Sikder, Nick Haque Sikder, Mamtazul Haque Sikder, daughter Nasim Sikder, Parveen Haque Sikder, MP, and Lisa Fatema Haque Sikder welcomed all on the occasion.
Dipu Haque Sikder could not attend the ceremony in person due to illness. He participated through video conferencing.
More than 30,000 people took part in the chehlum and doa ceremonies.
The renowned industrialist Zainul Haque Sikder died on February 10 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dubai.
