Four people including the general secretary of the Bogura District Motor Workers Union, were arrested in connection with a case filed over the double murder in Bogura's Nishindara Chakar Para area on Tuesday.
The arrestees are General Secretary of Bogura District Motor Workers Union Syed Kabir Ahmed Mithu, 60, Ajbin Rifat, 19, Sheikh Sourav, 26, and Nayeem Hossain, 28.
Sayan Oliullah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bogura Sadar Police Station confirmed the matter.
He said a case was filed against 13 named and 14–15 unnamed persons over the double murder.
The case was filed following a complaint lodged by victim Sharif's mother Hena Begum.
The arrestees were handed over to the court and sent to jail. Operation is on to nab the rest of the accused, added the OC.
Snigdho Akhter, additional superintendent of Bogura District Police, said two rounds of bullet shells were recovered from the spot.
Earlier, two teenagers— Noman Ahmed alias Sharif, 17, and Roman Ahmed, 18,—were hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in the Nishindara Chakar Para area of Bogura in the early hours of Tuesday.
Another youth named Hossain, alias Bullet, suffered a bullet injury in the incident.
