“The job of the police has to be done with pride, honesty and love. You should discharge your duties with honesty alongside encouraging other colleagues to be honest,” he said.
The IGP said all the crimes, including corruption, will come down if every police personnel work as a ‘whistleblower’ from their respective positions.
"We want to ensure the welfare of every force and officer. But we don’t want to see corrupt people in this service,” he added.
Benazir Ahmed made the remarks while exchanging views with the sub-inspectors, sergeants and inspectors working in the DMP at Rajarbagh Police Lines.
Speaking at the programme, DMP Commissioner M Shafiqul Islam said they have adopted a zero-tolerance stance against corruption.
“We’re always active and alert so that no one can dodge the eyes of the police after committing crimes in this city. Alongside our members at different police stations, detectives are also working to control crimes,” he said.
