Bangladesh cricket’s former skipper and iconic superstar Mashrafe Bin Mortaza sought the people's votes for Awami League-nominated candidate for Faridpur-1 constituency and party’s Presidium Member Abdur Rahman on Friday afternoon.
He came to Sahasrail area of Faridpur’s Boalmari upazila from Narail at 3:30 pm and campaigned with a call to vote for the boat.
Awami League candidate Abdur Rahman and other leaders and activists were present at the time.
Mashrafe, who is contesting from the Narail-2 seat with the symbol ‘boat’, also addressed a street rally there.
After the rally, he joined another rally organised by the Awami League in Kamar village of Alfadanga upazila of the district and urged all to cast votes for the Awami League-nominated candidate.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s former Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, former Additional Inspector General Malik Khasru and District Krishak League President Sheikh Shahidul Islam spoke on the occasion.
They claimed that there is no alternative to the boat to keep the trend of development going and all will have to work together to clinch the victory of Sheikh Hasina-nominated candidate.
