Ferry operations on the Paturia–Daulatdia river route resumed at around 10am on Friday after remaining suspended for seven hours due to dense fog.
Two ferries anchored mid-river during the suspension safely reached the terminals as visibility improved, allowing stranded vehicles to begin crossing the river.
BIWTC Aricha sector Deputy General Manager Abdus Salam said ferry movement on the Paturia–Daulatdia and Aricha–Kazirhat routes was halted from 3am because of poor visibility.
At the time, three ferries were stuck midstream, while seven others carrying passengers and vehicles were held at the terminals, he said.
With the fog easing in the morning, normal ferry operations resumed, easing congestion at four terminals.
