Four people died due to electric shocks in two separate incidents today in Magura and Jhenaidah. 

In Magura’s Doar Par area, Aliyar Rahman (55) was electrocuted early this morning while fishing in rainwater.

According to Mehedi Rasel, Officer-in-Charge of Magura Sadar Police Station, Rahman was fishing in a field submerged by rainwater when he came in contact with a live electric pole that had fallen into the water. Local residents rushed him to Magura's 250-Bed Sadar Hospital, but the on-duty doctor declared him dead upon arrival. An accidental death case has been filed with the Magura police. 

In a separate incident in Surapara village under Pora Hati union in Jhenaidah, three individuals were electrocuted. The deceased are Angar Ali (60), son of the late Moksed Mollah; his sister-in-law Hasina Khatun (55); and his niece-in-law Reshma Khatun (40).

Fire Service Officer Tanvir Hasan reported that on Sunday night, while trying to move a fallen tree, Angar Ali was electrocuted by a broken electric wire. When he failed to return home, his family began searching for him. On Monday morning, Hasina Khatun and Reshma Khatun found Ali on the ground and attempted to help him but were electrocuted in the process. The Jhenidah Fire Service arrived and transported the injured to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station's OC Shahin Uddin confirmed the deaths and reported that police have been sent to investigate.
