The country’s largest Islamic cultural platform, Somonnito Sangskritik Sangsad (SOSAS), organized a special cultural evening titled 'Hridoye Muhammad (SM)' on Friday at the open stage of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), marking the occasion of the holy Seerat celebration.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by soulful performances of Hamd, Na’at, Qawwali, Puthi Path, Jari Gaan and poetry recitation by prominent artistes and cultural personalities. The massive presence of Rasul (SM) devotees rendered the atmosphere vibrant and emotionally charged.
The programme was presided over by SOSAS Executive Director HM Abu Musa, who in his address said: “Rasul (SM) is the beacon of humanity. Our cultural practices should be guided by his ideals - fostering welfare, humanity and devotion to the Prophet. This event is not only cultural, but also a revival of morality.”
Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU)'s newly elected Vice President Abu Sadiq Kayem said, “Today’s gathering has shown that devotion to the Prophet (SM) is the backbone of our national unity. With the power of culture, we can guide generations toward the path of enlightenment.”
Also present were DUCSU General Secretary SM Forhad, noted elocutionists Sharif Bayejid Mahmud and Mahbub Mukul, Supreme Court lawyer Al Mamun Russell, along with artistes from various cultural organizations across the country.
In a statement, SOSAS said, “The cultural evening was more than an event - it will remain a historic initiative for sowing the seeds of Prophet’s love and fostering humane culture in the society.”
As the mother organization of nearly 150 cultural groups nationwide, SOSAS continues its efforts to spread the light of cultural revolution and humanity across Bangladesh.
