Inspector General of Police, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has lauded the success of the Police Bureau of Investigation for solving some of the much-talked about murder cases in the country.
"PBI added a new level of efficiency in investigating cases," the IGP said while speaking at views exchanged meeting at the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) headquarters on case investigation and overall activities as the chirf guest.
He said that the competitive environment has been created among the various investigation agencies of the police, resulting in the enhancement of the quality of the investigation. He said, currently 95 percent of the cases are being solved.
The police chief said, PBI is investigating cases with innovative ideas. The trust that PBI has created among the people by maintaining high standards in investigations for a long time, must be continued in the future, the IGP hoped.
PBI chief (Additional IGP) Banaj Kumar Majumdar presented the case investigation and overall proceedings.
He also emphasized on research into the causes of infanticide.
PBI started its journey in 2012 with 970 manpower. On January 5, 2016, the PBI started its investigation process through the formulation of rules. At present, the PBI is investigating various types of crimes including murder, robbery, fraud, human trafficking, with a workforce of 2,031 people.
