Bangladesh Army, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, detained 390 people with arms and ammunitions from different parts of the country over the seven days till May 28.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the joint operations were started on May 22 to maintain law and order of the country, and has continued.
During the drives, 21 firearms, 99 rounds of ammunition, 16 crude bombs, narcotics, locally-made weapons, stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, walkie-talkies, passports, counterfeit currency, and cash were seized, said ISPR.
The detainees include murder suspects, armed criminals, top-listed gang leaders, smugglers, teenage gang members, kidnappers, muggers, extortionists, drug dealers, and addicts.
They were handed over to local police stations for further questioning and legal procedures.
To ensure public safety, the army continues regular patrols and has been engaging with factory owners and workers to ease labour tensions ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Security at temporary cattle markets and roads is also being strengthened, along with special patrols to prevent ticket scalping.
The army urges citizens to report any suspicious activity to nearby camps. Joint operations will continue to uphold national security.
