Dhaka, Dec 7 (UNB) – Out of its 206 candidates, BNP on Friday awarded its election tickets to ten women, including singer Rumana Morshed Kanak Chapa, to contest the 11th parliamentary elections.
They are Rita Rahman (Rangpur-3), Kamrun Nahar Shirin, (Natore-1), Sabina Yasmin Chhabi, (Natore-2), Kanak Chapa (Sirajganj-1), Jeba Amin Khan (Jhalakati-2), Dr Sansila Jebrin (Sherpur-1), Tahmina Zaman Shraboni (Netrakona-4) Shama Obaid (Faridpur-2) and Hsaina Ahmed (Cox’s Bazar-1), Shamim Ara Begum (Dhaka-11).
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam announced the names of 206 party’s final candidates at a press conference at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office.
The party will announce the names of 94 other candidates of the 20-party, Oikyafront and that of its undecided ones on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Ruling Awami League nominated 16 candidates to contest the election in favour of the party.
