For this, the IGP emphasised modernisation of the tourist police in order to ensure flawless security and comfortable stay of domestic and foreign tourists at the tourist spots aiming to develop the potential tourism industry of the country.
The IGP came up with the direction while speaking at a meeting at the police headquarters with senior officials of the tourist police.
The top police official of Bangladesh Police has given instructions to determine a modern course of action suitable for the tourist police analysing the activities of tourist police in various developed and tourism dependent countries of the world.
He has also given direction for arranging modern training for officers and forces of the Tourist Police and to maintain regular coordination with the tourist police of different countries at regional and international level, coordinate and organise regional conferences with them.
Benazir Ahmed said the website and pages of the tourist police should be user-friendly so that tourists can easily know the location, security, facilities and other details of the desired tourist spot.
