A Faridpur court on Monday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for violating a 13-year-old disabled girl in 2023.
Faridpur Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Shamima Parveen passed the order.
The condemned convict, identified as Nuruddin Molla 57 of Ishangopalpur union, was fined Tk 5 lakh.
It also asked the district collector to provide the fined money to the family members of the girl after selling the property of the convict.

According to the prosecution, Nuruddin swooped into the house of the girl on September 9, 2023 when she was alone at the house and violated her.
Local people caught Nuruddin at red handed and sent the girl to the One-stop crisis centre of Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.
A case was filed against Nuruddin on the following day.
