A 27-year-old mother has been arrested for allegedly killing her 12-day-old twins by throwing them into a well in Jashore’s Keshabpur upazila.
The incident took place on Tuesday night following a family dispute near the new mosque in Sahapara area of Keshabpur, police said.

The arrestee has been identified as Sultana Yasmin.
Police recovered the bodies of the twins from the well at around 7:00 am on Wednesday.
Sultana lived with her husband Abu Bakar Siddique at her father Abdul Latif's house in Sahapara of the municipality.

She along with her family members were brought to the police station for interrogation on Wednesday morning after Sultana called the police through her family members, saying that her twins went missing.
Later, during the interrogation, Sultana confessed to throwing her children, Araf and Tasneem, into the well in front of the house at around 1:30am on Wednesday, said Mohammad Zahirul Alam, officer-in-charge of Keshabpur Police Station .

She confessed to throwing them in the water after a family dispute with her husband, said OC Zahirul.
A case has been filed with Keshabpur police station in this regard.
