Police rescued a newborn baby girl from a dustbin in Bayazid Bostami area of the city on Sunday morning.
Priton Sarker, officer-in-charge of Bayazid Bostami Police Station, said locals spotted the newborn in the dustbin and informed police.
Later, police rescued the newborn and sent her to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
After examining the baby, doctors at the hospital said she was doing well, the OC said, adding that the baby is now under the supervision of Social Services office.
