In a condolence message, Professor Yunus described him as the industry’s most decorated singer and a great talent.
“He was an extremely humble person who happened to believe that his biggest achievement was love from people, more than his awards,” Professor Yunus said.
Mentioning that his work was mesmerising and will be a great source of inspiration for many coming generations and artists, the Nobel Laureate also said his demise has created a cultural void in the country.
Andrew's loss is irreparable and he will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in peace, he added.
Popular Bangladeshi playback singer Andrew Kishore passed away on Monday evening at a clinic in Rajshahi city. He was 64.
He had been undergoing treatment at a clinic run by his doctor sister and her husband at Mohishbathan of the city.
