Addressing BNP leaders and activists, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder on Friday said the people of Bangladesh do not support anyone who resorts to terrorism - those who still do will receive 'a befitting reply'.
The minister said this while addressing the triennial conference of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League Sapahar Upazila unit at Chowdhury Chan Mohammad Mohila College premises in Sapahar on Friday.
The food minister said the people of the region are the beneficiaries of Sheikh Hasina: "She has increased the honorarium of freedom fighters under the social security program. The government is providing stipend to students, widow's allowance, old age allowance, disability allowance."
"Sheikh Hasina will have to be kept in power again to continue the development. Sheikh Hasina had said she would build the Padma Bridge with her own money. By doing so, she has shown the world our capabilities," said the minister.
The food minister said Sheikh Hasina's government had set up community clinics in every union to provide health services to the people, but the BNP government closed the community clinics and deprived the people of health services.
"However, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reopened community clinics. People are getting 27 types of medicines free of cost," he added.
Presided over by Porsha Upazila Awami Mohila League President Fahima Begum, the function was addressed, among others, by Sapahar Upazila Awami League President Md Sahjahan Hossain, General Secretary Masud Reza Sarwar and others.
