Islamic University, Feb 17 (UNB) - Pitha Utsab, a traditional Bengoli festival of making cakes, was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday.
IU 20th batch students of Accounting and Information systems department organised the festival in front of the university’s Gymnasium around 11:00am.
IU vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the festival as the chief guest while pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha and IU syndicate member Professor M Mahbubar Rahman were there as special guests with departmental chairman Professor Abdus Shaheed Miah in the chair.
Professor of the department M Zakir Hossain conducted the festival attended by over five hundred students of the department including convener of the Pitha Utsab, Professor Shelina Nasrin.
