Safko Spinnings Mills Ltd has disclosed to the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) that it holds no undisclosed price-sensitive information behind the recent unusual spike in its share price and trading volume, the bourse revealed Wednesday morning.

In response to a DSE query dated April 13, the Z-category textile company stated it has already notified the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), DSE, and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) through a letter dated March 10, 2026, regarding the planned transfer of shareholding from its present directors and sponsors to new investors.

Subsequently, on March 31, 2026, the company applied to the BSEC, DSE, and CSE seeking regulatory approval for the transfer of 30 percent shares currently held by its directors and sponsors, along with a full management takeover by the incoming investors.

Shares of Safko Spinnings Mills, which trades in the Z category on the DSE, closed Wednesday at Tk 18.50 — near the top of its 52-week range of Tk 8.80 to Tk 19.00, reflecting a near-doubling in value over the period.

Sponsors and directors currently hold 30 percent of the company's shares, with the public holding approximately 65 percent.

Regulatory approvals from BSEC, DSE, and CSE are pending for the proposed ownership and management transition.
