A high school teacher was killed after being crushed by a collapsed wall near Muradnagar Adarsha High School in the capital’s Kadamtali area on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mostafizur Rahman, 30, a teacher at the school. Originally from Galachipa upazila in Bhola, he had been residing in Kadamtali.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 6:40 pm, where doctors at the emergency department declared him dead after examination.

His nephew, Shariyatullah, said his uncle was passing by the school when the wall collapsed on him, leaving him critically injured. He was later taken to DMCH, where doctors confirmed his death.
However, Shariyatullah declined to comment on how exactly the incident occurred.
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said the injured teacher was brought to the hospital from Kadamtali but was declared dead upon arrival.
“We have informed Kadamtali police about the incident,” he added.
