He made the call during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Li Jiming at the federation building in the city’s Motijheel area.
During the meeting, both of them focused on strengthening the mutual relations and communications between the two friendly countries to keep the trade and commerce here normal amid the spread of coronavirus, said a press release.
The FBCCI chief and the Chinese ambassador agreed to work together to overcome the coronavirus situation in Bangladesh.
Fazle Fahim urged Li Jiming to take steps so that their country’s businessmen stand by the Bangladeshi ones by buying the goods that foreign buyers are failing to import or orders for which they are cancelling due to the coronavirus.
Li Jiming assured the FBCCI president of discussing the issue with the Chinese businessmen and extending cooperation to the business community here.
He also said he would take a step to hold a virtual meeting of businessmen of the two countries as soon as possible to highlight Fazle Fahim's proposal on buying Bangladeshi products by the Chinese businessmen.
Fazle Fahim thanked the Chinese government for standing beside Bangladesh at this bad time.
He also thanked the Chinese leading business organisation CCPIT and the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce for their cooperation in the continuation of the supply of raw materials to Bangladesh during the time of disaster since February.
