Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farzana on Friday directed the authorities concerned to complete the construction of the Sylhet Modern Information Complex swiftly while maintaining the highest quality standards.
She stressed that the funds allocated for the Modern Information Complex construction project must be spent with full transparency alongside ensuring timely completion of the project.
The secretary issued the directives while inspecting the progress of the under-construction Modern Information Complex at Tilagarh in Sylhet city, said a PID handout here.
The project is being implemented under the Department of Mass Communication to establish Modern Information Complexes at the district level, with a total cost of Tk 16 crore 67 lakh 90 thousand.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Dr Mohammad Altaf-ul-Alam, Director General of the Department of Mass Communication Md Abdul Jalil and Project Director of the district-level Modern Information Complex construction project Md Moniruzzaman were present during the inspection.
Later, the information secretary also visited the Tilagarh Bangladesh Betar (Radio Bangladesh) Sylhet Centre to inspect the progress of the modernisation and installation of digital broadcasting equipment.
