A Dhaka court on Monday imposed a travel ban on former Air Chief Shaikh Abdul Hannan and his family in a graft case.
Besides, the court also imposed travel ban on the former chief scientific officer of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Mohammad Monjor Ahsan and his wife in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain passed the order after hearing two separate petitions filed by the ACC.
Court imposes travel ban on Hanif, his family over corruption
Deputy Director of ACC Tanzir Hasib Sarkar filed the petition seeking travel ban on Hannan, his wife Tahmida Begum, son Labib Hannan and daughter Sanzida Akter.
According to the petition, allegations were brought against the former Air Chief Hannan for amassing wealth through abusing power and other irregularities including taking bribes.
Besides, Deputy Director of ACC, Anisur Rahman filed another petition against Monjor Ahsan and his wife Nargis Khanam for amassing wealth.
