Enam Ul Haque was elected as the chairman of five-member executive committee of WildTeam, a conservation organisation, at the organisation’s annual general meeting.
The 20th Annual General Meeting of WildTeam was held at its head office at Cosmos Centre in Dhaka’s Malibagh on Wednesday (December 13, 2023).

The AGM elected Md Shamsur Rahman as vice president of the board. The five-member executive committee includes Professor Dr Md. Anwarul Islam as the general secretary, Professor Dr Gawsia Wahidunnessa Chowdhury as the treasurer, and Enayetullah Khan as a member, according to a press release.
Among others, Professor M Harunur Rashid, Professor Dr Nitish Chandra Debnath, Professor Md. Obaidul Haque, Professor Dr Ismot Ara, Professor Professor MA Aziz, and Nahar Khan who are also the board members, congratulated the executive committee members.

Wild Team is carrying out its activities to improve the conservation status of key animal species and habitats in Bangladesh and developing partnerships, tools, and platforms to build the capacity of organizations and individuals to carry out effective conservation in the country, the press release reads.
The organisation was able to engage communities in the Sundarbans with the support from Bangladesh Forest Department, USAID, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Zoological Society of London, IUCN-KfW, and others to conserve tigers there.

It is now working in 49 of Sundarban's 76 villages with about 450 volunteers: 340 village tiger response team (VTRT) members, 55 BaghBandhus, and 40 TigerScouts.
At present WildTeam is implementing IUCN-KW's' Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme Phase Il in collaboration with Wildlife Trust of India and Jahangirnagar University in the Sundarbans.
