Dhaka, Sept 30 (UNB) - Ground handling operations at Shahjalal International Airport here were hampered for five hours on Sunday following work abstention by a section of workers of Biman Bangladesh Airlines demanding regularisation of their jobs.
ASP (Media) of Airport Armed Police Tariqul Islam said the workers went on work abstention and laid a siege to the Biman headquarters, Balaka Bhaban, around 10:30 am.
However, flight operations at the airport remained undisrupted, he said.
Preferring anonymity, a Civil Aviation official said the ground handling operation at the airport was hampered due to the work abstention of the Biman workers.
Biman is responsible for ground handling operations at the airport.
However, the workers returned to their work around 3:30 pm following the assurance by the authorities concerned to look into the matter.
